How to Verify Any Mover in Florida
Florida’s Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) regulates household-goods movers operating within the state. Before booking any mover — us included — you can and should check:
- Ask for their FDACS registration number directly. A licensed mover will give it to you without hesitation.
- Look up the registration on the FDACS website to confirm it’s active and matches the company name on your quote.
- For interstate moves (crossing state lines), confirm a USDOT number and check it against the FMCSA’s Protect Your Move database .
- Confirm the business name on the registration matches the name on your written estimate — a common scam pattern is operating under a different name than what’s registered.
